The Florida Orchestra is set to bring its family concert A Star to Remember to the Mahaffey Theater on Sunday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m. The matinee, part of the orchestra’s 2026-27 season, promises a magical journey for audiences of all ages. Conducted by Chelsea Gallo, the performance features vocalist Alec Brown and dancers Madison Pineda Bender, Mackenzie McLean and Antonio Hernandez.
The story follows Milo as he ventures through a mysterious Night Market in search of his grandfather’s missing constellation. Along the way, he discovers a comforting message: the people we love are never truly gone as long as we remember them. The concert blends that heartfelt narrative with music from E.T. and Coco, plus orchestral favorites including Smetana’s The Moldau and Brahms’ Hungarian Dance No. 1.
Families are encouraged to arrive early for hands-on fun, including an Instrument Petting Zoo and activities with community partners. The concert is designed as an engaging, welcoming introduction to live symphonic music, combining storytelling, dance and beloved film scores in one memorable afternoon.
