Beautify Signal Boxes in Lealman on 01/26/26

On January 30, 2026, the Lealman community of Pinellas County will begin its exciting initiative to beautify local signal boxes, aiming to enhance the area’s aesthetic appeal. As part of this effort, five local artists will be selected to wrap signal boxes in their own artistic designs, providing a vibrant touch to everyday urban infrastructure. Each chosen artist will receive a stipend of $1,000 to support their creative work. This initiative provides a fantastic opportunity for artists to showcase their talents while contributing to the community’s visual landscape. Additionally, a special webinar will be held on January 30 at 6 PM via Google Meet, where artists can learn everything they need to know about applying for this and other projects. Applications for both the signal box wraps and an approximately 900 square-foot mural installation opportunity will close on the same day, January 30, at noon. Interested artists are encouraged to seize this opportunity to leave their mark on Lealman and participate in a noteworthy project that combines art and community engagement.
