The Florida Orchestra has announced a special concert featuring three-time GRAMMY® winner and Miami native Cécile McLorin Salvant, set for Saturday, June 5, 2027, at 7:30 p.m. at Ruth Eckerd Hall. Known for her adventurous artistry and extraordinary voice, Salvant blends jazz, blues, folk, Baroque music and theatrical storytelling into performances that continually surprise audiences. The orchestra says the concert will be a rare chance to experience one of today’s most original musical storytellers live.
Salvant’s appearance is part of The Florida Orchestra’s newly unveiled 2026-27 season, which goes on sale to the public beginning Aug. 11. The season includes nearly 100 concerts across Tampa Bay, ranging from classical masterworks and holiday programming to family events, film concerts and intimate chamber performances.
Among the many highlights are Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas in Concert Live to Film at the Mahaffey Theater in December, as well as Classical Christmas, the Soundwaves Chamber Orchestra series, and the family concert A Star to Remember. With the addition of Salvant’s June performance, the orchestra is adding another distinctive voice to a season designed to inspire, educate and unite audiences throughout the region.
