Animal lovers in the Tampa Bay area will have a great reason to visit SPCA Tampa Bay in Largo on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2025, as the shelter takes part in Clear the Shelters 2026. For one day only, SPCA Tampa Bay is waiving all adoption fees, making it easier than ever for pets to find their forever homes. The annual adoption campaign encourages families and individuals to open their hearts and homes to animals in need, and the Largo event is expected to draw plenty of attention from would-be adopters looking for a new companion.
Clear the Shelters has become a popular late-summer tradition for shelters across the country, and SPCA Tampa Bay’s participation highlights both the urgency and joy of pet adoption. Whether visitors are hoping for a playful puppy, a mellow adult cat, or a pet with a personality all its own, the fee-waived event offers a chance to meet animals ready for a second start. With adoption costs removed, the emphasis shifts to matching pets with the right people and helping more animals leave the shelter for good.
