The Florida Orchestra will bring Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl to life on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, at the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg. Part of the orchestra’s 59th season kickoff, the live-to-film concert will feature the full blockbuster on the big screen while the orchestra performs Klaus Badelt and Hans Zimmer’s score in sync with the action. The performance starts at 2 p.m. and follows a Friday, Sept. 18 show at 7:30 p.m.
The Sept. 19 matinee is especially fitting because it falls on International Talk Like a Pirate Day, adding extra fun to a performance already steeped in swashbuckling spirit. Audience members are encouraged to arrive in pirate attire and join in the festive atmosphere, honoring Tampa Bay’s own pirate heritage.
Based on the Disney Parks attraction and starring Captain Jack Sparrow, the 2003 film launched a blockbuster franchise and remains a fan favorite for its mix of adventure, humor and supernatural mystery. Tickets for the concert start at $28, including fees, and are on sale now through FloridaOrchestra.org or the orchestra’s Ticket Center.
