Half Day Stop Motion Animation Camp from June 22-26, 2026

This summer, Tampa Theatre will host a Half Day Stop Motion Animation Camp from June 22-26, 2026, offering young filmmakers a unique opportunity to explore their creativity through this beloved animation style. Designed for aspiring animators, the camp will provide hands-on instruction in the art of stop motion, enabling participants to create their own animated shorts. The sessions will take place in an alternative location, the second-floor executive office space above the lobby, while the historic Duncan Auditorium undergoes restoration. Each day will culminate in a group project showcasing the students’ work, set to premiere during the Friday Friends & Family event in the Taylor Screening Room. Registration for the camp is currently open for members and will be available to the general public starting February 16. Spots are expected to fill quickly, so early registration is encouraged to secure a place in this exciting program. Whether participants are beginners or have some experience, this camp will equip them with valuable skills and inspire their passion for filmmaking.
