Rising British pianist Jeneba Kanneh-Mason will make her Florida Orchestra debut on Oct. 16, 2026, at Ruth Eckerd Hall, joining the ensemble for a program that pairs Florence Price’s Piano Concerto in One Movement with Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade. The appearance is part of a busy October for The Florida Orchestra, which is launching its 2026-27 season across Tampa Bay with a mix of classical masterworks, pops concerts and community events.
Kanneh-Mason’s debut adds extra anticipation to a concert that highlights both a celebrated early-20th-century American composer and one of the most colorful works in the orchestral repertoire. Florence Price’s concerto is a rare opportunity for audiences to hear a work that blends lyrical momentum with rich orchestral writing, while Scheherazade brings the vivid storytelling and sweeping themes that have made it a favorite with concertgoers.
The Oct. 16 performance at Ruth Eckerd Hall is one of two chances to hear the program, with a second concert set for Oct. 17 at the Mahaffey Theater. The Florida Orchestra says tickets are available through its box office and website as it continues a season that also features high-profile guest artists, including Hilary Hahn in a later gala benefit concert.
