Mental Health First Aid Training Workshops on March 25, 27, 28, 30

Creative Pinellas hosted Mental Health First Aid training workshops on March 25, 27, 28, and 30, attracting over 50 participants eager to support their communities following recent challenges. Among them was artist Jackie Kaufman, who inspired by her own experiences with Hurricane Helene’s aftermath, sought to enhance her ability to assist others struggling with mental health issues. She emphasized the importance of creating a supportive environment, stating, “There are so many triggers for our local communities right now, and knowing that you are not alone is very vital.” During the workshops, attendees engaged in extensive training that equipped them to recognize and respond to mental health and substance use challenges, earning a Mental Health First Aid certification upon completion. The training was provided at no cost, thanks to partnerships with organizations like Love IV Lawrence and Safe & Sound Hillsborough. Participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to cultivate their skills and increase their capacity to help those in need. As Creative Pinellas continues to offer mental health initiatives, the organization reiterates its commitment to fostering a supportive and interconnected community.
