On March 25, 2026, the Lealman Exchange will host a Mental Health First Aid workshop dedicated to equipping participants with the essential skills to address mental health and substance use challenges. Running from 9 am to 3 pm, the workshop includes refreshments and lunch, making it a comprehensive, supportive environment for learning. This initiative is particularly beneficial for artists and creatives, who often face unique mental health challenges, as shared by CEO Margaret Murray and artist Calan Ree on Tampa Bay’s Morning Blend. The training will help participants recognize and respond effectively to signs of mental health issues in themselves and others. The workshop is organized by the Love IV Lawrence foundation and offered at no cost, thanks to support from Safe & Sound Hillsborough. However, pre-registration is required by March 16 to secure your spot. With additional sessions available at various locations, including the Dunedin Fine Art Center and the freeFall Theater, individuals are encouraged to participate. This workshop represents a pivotal step towards fostering a healthier community, emphasizing the importance of mental health awareness and support within the arts sector.
