Paths Like Past Exhibition by Vanessa Cunto at Creative Pinellas on 08/01/26

Creative Pinellas will continue its America250 celebration on Aug. 1 with Paths Like Past, an exhibition by Vanessa Cunto running from 5 to 7 p.m. The show is part of a broader series of new works supported through Creative Pinellas and National Endowment for the Arts grants awarded to Pinellas County artists in recognition of the nation’s 250th anniversary. The program is designed to spark reflection on America’s history, present, and future through visual art, music, film, and performance.

Paths Like Past follows the July 11 unveiling of Kirk Ke Wang’s installation honoring Chinese-American horticulturist Lue Gim Gong, known as “The Citrus Wizard,” whose work helped save Florida’s citrus industry. It also comes ahead of The Women of My Life concert by Dave & Heather Hamar on Aug. 28. Together, the projects highlight the range of creative voices taking part in Creative Pinellas’ America250-funded initiative.

Creative Pinellas says the series is meant to spotlight local artists while connecting their work to larger stories of heritage and identity. The organization has also been active this summer with its Juicy: A Slice of Florida Life exhibition at Sightline Gallery, which explores Florida’s citrus history through glass art and vintage imagery. With Paths Like Past, Vanessa Cunto joins a growing lineup of artists helping mark the semiquincentennial through public-facing cultural events in Pinellas County.
