The Florida Orchestra is set to celebrate one of the most influential bands in music history with Revolution: The Music of the Beatles, a concert experience happening Oct. 9 and 10. The program brings the iconic songs of The Beatles to life with a full orchestra, top vocalists, rare photos and stunning video, offering audiences a fresh way to experience timeless classics. Grammy winner Jeff Tyzik has created arrangements that reimagine original Abbey Road recordings, adding orchestral color to the band’s legendary sound.
Audiences can expect to hear favorites including Hey Jude, Here Comes the Sun, Penny Lane and Twist and Shout. The first performance takes place Friday, Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Straz Center’s Ferguson Hall in Tampa, followed by a Saturday, Oct. 10 performance at 7:30 p.m. at the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg.
In conjunction with the concert, The Florida Orchestra is also displaying select memorabilia from the Penny Lane Beatles Museum in the lobby before both performances. The exhibit adds another layer of nostalgia for fans eager to revisit the era that defined modern popular music.
