St. Petersburg’s October City of the Arts newsletter highlights the St. Pete Arts Alliance as part of a busy month of creative activity and public engagement across the city. On October 6, the arts group is featured alongside a series of local events that underscore St. Pete’s commitment to its cultural identity and community-driven arts scene. The newsletter points to a year of momentum for the city’s Arts, Culture and Tourism department, which says it has continued investing in artists, arts organizations, and public experiences that shape St. Pete’s reputation as the City of the Arts.
The timing also comes as the city celebrates major public art developments, including the reopening of the historic Manhattan Casino and the unveiling of “Where we Gather,” a new mural created in partnership with the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance and No Good Deeds Art. The mural honors the Deuces Corridor, the Manhattan Casino’s cultural legacy, and the people who helped shape Black history in the neighborhood.
October 6 is also a day for public participation, with arts meetings at City Hall inviting residents to share input on upcoming projects. Together, these events reflect the Alliance’s role in connecting artists, civic leaders, and neighbors through creativity, preservation, and community pride.
