The Tampa Bay Rays are back in action this week as they host the Athletics for a three-game series at Tropicana Field from Tuesday through Thursday, according to the latest I Love the Burg newsletter. The matchup gives local baseball fans a mid-September dose of home-field energy as the Rays continue their stretch of late-season play in St. Petersburg.
The series is one of several notable events happening around Tampa Bay from Monday, Sept. 14 through Thursday, Sept. 17, but for sports fans, the Rays headline the week’s calendar. Games against the Athletics always bring a fresh test, and with all three contests taking place at the Trop, there should be plenty of chances for fans to catch the action in person.
The newsletter also points readers to the wider Tampa Bay scene, where food, arts, and community events are filling up the week. Still, the Rays’ homestand stands out as the major draw for baseball devotees looking for a night out at the ballpark. Whether it’s a weekday escape or a chance to support the hometown club, the series offers one of the week’s biggest sports attractions in the region.
