The Florida Orchestra is bringing a holiday favorite to the Mahaffey Theater with Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas in Concert Live to Film on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m., with an additional matinee on Sunday, Dec. 6, at 2 p.m. The live-to-picture performance will feature the 1993 stop-motion classic on the big screen while The Florida Orchestra performs Danny Elfman’s GRAMMY®-winning score in full symphonic form. Licensed by Disney Concerts, the event promises a cinematic and musical experience that gives Jack Skellington’s spooky Christmas tale new life in concert.
Based on a story and characters by Tim Burton and directed by Henry Selick, the film follows Jack, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, as he tries to bring Christmas cheer to a world that isn’t quite ready for it. The Florida Orchestra says single tickets for this and all 2026-27 concerts went on sale Aug. 11 at FloridaOrchestra.org, by phone, and at the orchestra’s St. Petersburg Ticket Center. The announcement is part of a larger season lineup that also includes Classical Christmas, chamber music offerings, a family concert, and a special appearance by jazz vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant.
