The Youth Environmental Action Summit is set to take place on Saturday, February 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Plant Hall, University of Tampa. This event honors the legacy of renowned scientist and conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall, encouraging young participants to engage with environmental issues. The summit will feature a private screening of Disney and Pixar’s highly anticipated film, “Hoppers,” alongside a keynote address by mother-daughter duo Julie C. Henry and Tasman Henry, who will inspire attendees to protect local ecosystems. In addition to the keynote, participants can dive into hands-on workshops and explore an environmental expo showcasing 40 local organizations dedicated to conservation and sustainability. Tickets for the keynote and workshops are priced at $10 per child, with parents and chaperones admitted for free. Attendance at the environmental expo and film screening remains complimentary, making it a welcoming event for families eager to get involved in environmental advocacy and education. This summit is a perfect opportunity for youth to learn about conservation while having fun and connecting with like-minded individuals in the Tampa Bay area.
